Properties

The Properties tab allows you to define product properties, which are used to build filters in the WebShop. By assigning properties to products, you enable customers to refine search results and find the exact products they need.

Properties

What Are Properties?

Properties are key-value pairs that describe product attributes. These attributes are used to create dynamic filters in the WebShop, making it easier for customers to browse and discover products.

Examples of Properties:

  • Model – e.g., UltraWide Series, XPS Series, MacBook
  • Screen Size – e.g., 24-inch, 27-inch, 32-inch
  • Connectivity – e.g., USB-C, HDMI, Thunderbolt
  • Storage Capacity – e.g., 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

Adding Properties to a Product

To add a property to a product:

  1. Navigate to the Properties tab within the product editor.
  2. Click + Add key to create a new property.
  3. Select a Key (e.g., Model, Screen Size) from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enter a Value (e.g., UltraWide Series, 27-inch).
  5. Repeat the process to add multiple properties.
  6. Click Save Changes to apply the properties.

Creating New Properties and Values

You can easily create new properties and values directly from this interface:

  • Type a new key in the dropdown field and select Add Key to create a custom property.
  • Enter a new value and click Add Value to define additional options.

This functionality allows for flexible and dynamic product customization, ensuring that properties align with your specific product catalog.

Managing Properties

Once added, properties can be modified or removed:

  • Edit: Click on a property field and update the value.
  • Remove: Click the Trash icon next to a property to delete it.

How Properties Work in WebShop Filters

  • When a product is assigned a property, it automatically becomes a filter option in the WebShop.
  • Customers can use these filters to refine their search based on relevant criteria.
  • Filters dynamically adjust based on the available products in each category.

By properly configuring properties, you improve product discoverability and enhance the shopping experience.
