Distributor Mode FAQ
What is the difference between Distributor Mode and normal products?
A normal product has one main set of product and pricing information. A Distributor Mode product can keep several distributor options behind one product listing.
What is the difference between Distributor Mode and volume pricing?
Volume pricing is used when the price changes based on quantity. Distributor Mode is used when the same product is available from several distributors.
A product should use the mode that matches the business need. Use volume pricing for quantity-based price tiers. Use Distributor Mode for distributor-based stock, cost, and fulfillment options.
Do customers choose the distributor?
No. Customers see and order the product as a normal product. The distributor selection is handled by the system and can be reviewed by the provider.
Can the provider change the distributor?
Yes. If more than one distributor is available for the product, the provider can change the selected distributor when editing the order item.
What is Distributor SKU?
Distributor SKU is the product number used by a specific distributor. It helps identify the correct distributor item during import, order handling, and fulfillment.
What is Vendor SKU?
Vendor SKU is the product number from the vendor or manufacturer. Vendor SKU can be shown in the WebShop to make product identification easier.
Can distributors be excluded from pricing?
Yes. Pricing rules can exclude selected distributors so they are not used in that rule's price calculation.
