Distributor Products in Orders
When a customer orders a product with Distributor Mode enabled, the order item can include the selected distributor. The selected distributor is used when the provider reviews and processes the order.
Automatic distributor selection
The system can select a distributor based on the available distributor options for the product. The selection can consider information such as stock, cost price, retail price, and pricing rules.
Customers do not need to select a distributor during checkout.
Review distributor selection
Providers can review the selected distributor from the order item. This gives visibility into which distributor is currently connected to the product in the order.
Change distributor
If more than one distributor is available for the product, the provider can change the selected distributor when editing the order item.
This is useful when:
- The selected distributor has changed stock availability.
- Another distributor has a better price.
- A specific customer agreement requires another distributor.
- The provider wants to use a preferred distributor.
After the order item is saved, the updated distributor is used for the order.
Processing the order
Before approving or processing the order, confirm that the selected distributor is correct for each distributor product. This helps ensure that fulfillment and purchasing follow the provider's final distributor choice.
