Distributor Mode

Distributor Mode lets you manage one customer-facing product while keeping several distributor options behind it. This helps keep the WebShop catalog clean when the same product is available from multiple distributors.

Instead of creating one product for each distributor, you can group distributor options on a single product. Each distributor can have its own SKU, stock, cost price, and retail price. The system can then select the most suitable distributor during pricing and ordering.

When to use Distributor Mode

Use Distributor Mode when:

  • The same product is available from more than one distributor.
  • You want customers to see one product listing in the WebShop.
  • You need to compare distributor stock or prices before fulfilling an order.
  • Providers should be able to review or change the selected distributor before processing an order.

What Distributor Mode affects

Distributor Mode affects several parts of the product flow:

  • Products: one product can contain several distributor options.
  • Import: distributor products can be grouped during product import.
  • Pricing: prices can be calculated from distributor-specific stock and price information.
  • Orders: the selected distributor can be shown and changed on order items.
  • WebShop: customers see a cleaner catalog with fewer duplicate products.
